In the year 63 BC a boy named Gaius Octavius Thurinus born in the Roman Empire which meant nothing much to the common Romans of that time. But when he died 14 CE he was the most loved and respected figure among the Roman public.

Some as might say today “He was a great tyrant who destroyed the Roman republic and became the sole emperor of Rome” but we should think about the scenario of that day. After the murder of Gaius Julius Caesar inside the senate building has created a lot of turmoil in the city of Rome and the whole empire was under caos. Senate chose mark Antony as their leader but he was not efficient enough to lead the Roman Empire.

The young boy Octavius or later called as Augustus Caeser saw the opportunity and stood up to take the charge lead Rome as a champion of the people like his uncle Julius Caesar.

At its ending days republic was chaos violence and corruption. He took charge of this broken state and lead this to its greatest glory.it was not a easy but a bloody way , he with his loyal follower agrippa, waged wars against mark Antony with the support of senate and crushed rebels all over the empire and later killed mark Antony in Egypt and subjugated Cleopatra of Ptolemy dynasty the infamous empress of Egypt.

After that he crushed all corrupt senators and started his dynasty and named his heir before his death. This man’s life is leadership lesson to all younger minds. He achieved that which his great uncle Julius Caesar failed to do. At his reign Rome was at its peak militarily and economically.

On August 19th 14 CE this man in his death bed said “I found Rome a city of bricks and left it a city of marble” this itself tells about his remarkable achievement. Only 2 men got the honour of having a name of month after them. One being Julius Caesar (July) and the next being the 1st emperor of Rome Augustus caeser ( August). This itself is a shows the significance of these men in world history.
