Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, unveiled Kartavya Path by renaming the old name Rajpath and so also the granite statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at India Gate canopy. He termed it as historic and unprecedented. It is said that another vestige of slavery has been erased for good.
Dedicating the redeveloped iconic stretch to the nation, PM said, “Kings way and Rajpath the symbol of slavery, has now become a matter of history from today and that has been erased for ever creating a new history in the form of Kartavya Path”.
The statue of King George V, the representative of British Raj which was there at the time of the slavery has been removed by installing the statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
The country has brought to life a modern, strong India by establishing the statue of Netaji, in the same place. It is also said that Bose was such a great man who was beyond the challenge of position and resources. He had courage and self-respect. He had leadership abilities and policies.
