After the end of A.C.B. (Anti Corruption Bureau) era in Karnataka, the BJP Government is ready to fulfill the promise of returning the power to Lokayukta. The government has decided to return the prosecution and investigation officers to Lokayukta in accordance with the order of Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka to abolish A.C.B. In compliance with the order the government instructs Secretary of Administrative Reforms Department to fulfill the requirements as per the list of Lokayukta.

Lokayukta will be strengthened step by step. The government will take all the necessary steps to strengthen Lokayukta as before. No legislative amendment is required for this purpose.The constitution of A.C B. was abolished as per the order of Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, in this behalf state government has resolved not to challenge the order of the Hon’ble High Court.

Accordingly the Cabinet is ready to fill up the vacant posts. Karnataka Lokayukta is the Ombudsman Institution of the Indian State of Karnataka. It was established in 1984 to investigate and report on corruption in the Government of Karnataka and to redress public grievances related to government employees.
