The joint study conducted by the Department of Health and Department of Education has brought to the light that in generally teachers in the state are suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and to some extent cancer is also noted amongst lady teachers.

The Departments of Education and Health conducted a joint survey and found 0.05% of teachers are suffering from breast,oral and uterus cancer. They are also suffering from heart, kidney and urinary problems.

The main reasons are family tension, financial problems and to maintain the house and school simultaneously. In between the neglect their health issues and avoid going to hospitals.

There are total 4,21,736 teachers in the state 0.60% of the teachers are lady teachers. Department of education has released Rs. 1 lakh for each district for health survey.

R. Vishal, the Commissioner, Department of Public Health has informed that on conducting health check of teachers it is found that 42% of the teachers are discharging the duties suffering either blood pressure or diabetes. Some of them are suffering from cancer. Instructions are given to teachers to undergo medical check up regularly and to take treatment immediately if necessary.

The teachers are advised to take care of their health by doing regular walking, some light exercises and so also to follow healthy diet. It is also advised to have regular health checking and spend some quality time enjoying with children.
