The City Police Department has implemented Mobile Criminal Tracking Net Work System (MCTNS) to help to curb the commission of crimes and to arrest the accused.
The system of crime and criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) designed by the Central Government will also be in force. In addition the MCTNS system has been implemented.
The law and order police stations in the city are already engaged in crime prevention and tracking of old accused through MCTNS. The system has received a good response from the staff and officers. It is felt that it would help preventing crime in the jurisdiction of the police stations.
Five fingerprint scanner have been provided to each station to facilitate the proper use of CCTNS. Every station police personnel should have CCTNS application in their mobiles. Patrol personnel must carry finger scanner with them. They are working on scanning fingerprints of suspicious people. Besides, they are using this technology to locate missing people.
According to Additional Commissioner of Police Subramanyeshwar Rao citizens with no criminal background will not suffer and after scanning, their data will not be saved in the application. State police IT division will have contact with MCTNS. Thus, the information of those involved in criminal acts, and their fingerprints, will help to know the details of the accused as to in which case he is involved will be available. Therefore, this application should be downloaded on the mobile of the police personnel. When police personnel is on patrol duty, they will be in a position to indentify any one if found loitering suspiciously. In addition, they have to connect their mobile with MCTNS application through the cable of the fingerprint scanner. After that, if the fingerprint of the suspect is scanned and if he has been involved in any crime in the past, his complete information will be available to the police personnel in a few seconds. If he is an old accused, he can be subjected to enquiry and commission of any crime can be avoided/curbed.
The MTCN system will help not only in the detection of criminals but also in the identification of unknown people. If a person goes missing in any part of the state, the information will be given to all the stations. Photo of the missing or died unknown person will be uploaded. If a missing person gets hold of any police and uploads his information about his missing will be available in all stations.
MCTNS has been implemented in the city to help to arrest criminals easily. Police personnel have also been trained on the implementation of this system. A review meeting will be held soon regarding the results of the system.
