In a dramatic scene, a man arrested in a drug peddling case escaped from custody by threatening police at gunpoint.
The incident took place in HSR layout recently when the Kerala police came to Bengaluru to nab the accused. The police lodged a complaint and a case was registered under the Arms Act.
A case was registered against Jafer under the NDPS Act, a sub-inspector and subordinates came to arrest this accused from Kerala. The team visited a house in HSR layout on 24 August night. The cops surrounded the accused, as soon as he opened the door, he pointed a revolver at sub-inspector and drove off with his friend in SUV. Though police gave a chase, it was in vain.
“The accused, a native of Kerala, was hiding in Bengaluru as per the Kerala police. They have filed a complaint but not yet turned up for spot inspection report,” a senior officer said.
