The state government has decided to challenge Karnataka High court order of single Judge in order to protect the interest of the students who appeared 2022 II PU exams, as the relying the rank list as ordered by single Judge would adversely affect their ranks.
The Higher education Minister discussed this issue with legal experts and department officials. The Minister said that releasing the rank list considering the II PU marks of 24,000 students who have written CET this year after passing the PU in 2021. So the decision is taken to challenge the decision.
On Saturday the Government will decide whether to move the Review petition before the same Judge who passed the order or to challenge it before the division bench.
In case of following the order of the single Judge, around 1.5 lakh students who have written CET for the first time will suffer and the rank list will change a lot. It is said that those who approached the court are stuck on some technical point. They should have understood in proper perspective the decision taken in the wake of COVID-19 last year.
