After Narendra Modi’s speech about the importance of nutrition in his last man ki baat and the Centre’s Poshan abhiyaan campaign, the Union ministry of women and child development has a large number of activities to celebrate Poshan Maah, a month to celebrate nutrition norms and to fight against malnutrition.

Among the activities, selected villages will hold discussion on malnutrition issues with expert officials to find solutions, health camps to detect the problems like anemia, t.b and other diseases. Rainwater harvesting in anganwadis, offices and residential houses will be encouraged.

Special attention will be given on traditional foods in tribal areas for healthy mother and child.State Government will also highlight traditional recipes having high nutrition and make efforts to link traditional foods with local festivals through out the month.

Across state a multi-ministerial effort will take place, anganwadi workers and helpers, schools under the education department, panchayat and self help groups, primary and community health centres to carry out activities to spread awareness about the importance of nutrition.
