Muruga seer Shri. Shivamurti Muruga Sharana, a prime suspect in sexual abuse case involving two minor high school girls came to be arrested on Thursday night by Chitradurga police and he was taken to undisclosed location for interrogation.
The police team is lead by Dy SP. Anil Kumar. The seer was later taken to Chitradurga District General hospital for medical test and then he was subjected to interrogation.
The security was tightened in and around Mutt to prevent untoward incidents.The police officials have confirmed that earlier in the day they had taken hostel warden Rashmi, the second suspect in the case for interrogation.
Two girl victims moved an application before the Court seeking justice and resisting the grant of anticipatory bail to the seer. These two victim girls who alleged that seer sexually abused them in the mutt were also subjected to medical test. As a result of the arrest of the pontiff his application seeking anticipatory bail pending before the District Court now becomes infectious.
Muruga seer was produced at the residence of District Judge after the medical test and he has been remanded to District Jail to 14 days judicial custody.
