Eight day long Veer Savarkar Ratha Yatra came to be flaged off by Former Chief Minister and Veteran BJP leader Sri Yadiyurappa, who was recently appointed as Member of BJP’s parliamentary Board, in Mysuru on Tuesday with a call to counter the negative propoganda against Hindutva ideologue and freedom fighter V. D. Savarkar, by spreading his message.
The eight day long Rathayatra will travel through the parts of Mysuru, Chamarajnagar and Mandya districts and concludes on 30th of this month. This Yatra is to propogate values of life, patriotism and to inspire the youth to develop patriotism and also to caution the anti social elements. Yadiyurappa gave a call to those who criticize Savarkar for petty politics to read the vachanas of Shri Basaveshwar. He recalled glowing descriptions of Savarkar by eminent personalities including former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Savarkar was the one who gave the shock to the British. In addition to freedom struggle Savarkar involved himself in protecting Hindu Dharma. While Vajpayee about 50 years ago had emphasized the need for taking Savarkar’s message to each and every household in the country. Mr. Yadiyurappa claimed that Mrs. Indira Gandhi had called him-“A remarkable son of India”.
The BJP leader said that number of eminent personalities in the country such as Former President Radhakrishnan, Zakhir Hussain and Ram Manohar Lohia all praised Savarkar. When Savarkar died in Mumbai everyone barring all political party leaders including congress and communist attended his funeral.
