Karnataka State Government in collaboration with KMF social concern had introduced the programme of Ksheera bhagya scheme to provide milk to school children with an intent to eradicate malnutrition and this scheme has bagged the ‘Innovation in School Milk Programme’ international award.
The MD B.C. Satish, Director marketing division Raghunandan and additional director marketing division Satish received this award on behalf of Sri. Balachandra Jarkiholi, the Chairman KMF from General Carolina Miranda, Director General , International Dairy Federation in Vishwa Dairy Summit held in Greater Noida Uttar Pradesh.
The International Dairy Federation (IDF) has been issuing this award to various new inventions achieved by Dairy industries. This year totally applications from 144 countries were received to grab this award.Out of 144 applicant countries IDF has recognised the achievements of KMF under the leadership of Balachandra Jarkiholi. KMF has bagged the prestigious award overtaking China and Norway.
Ksheera bhagya scheme has now completed it’s nine years in the state.Under this scheme 150 ml of milk is being distributed to totally 64 lakh 1st to 10 standard students from 55,683 govt and govt aided schools, so also to children from age of six months to six years of 64 thousand anganwadis. Milk is fed to the children 5 days in a week.
